Saharo focuses on creating opportunities for the poor, weaker, vulnerable and disadvantage section of the society. It believes that Innovation is the key to empowerment of vulnerable and disadvantaged communities particularly Women and Children to improve their socio-economic and political status. It emphasizes on promotion of social and community development, protection and conservation of natural resources, promotion of sustainable livelihood and protection of human rights at all levels everywhere in the world. It is firmly committed to improve the living standard and quality of life of the poor, weaker and vulnerable section of the society and to address their concern in the development process. It has actively been engaged in a number of Developmental activities and projects supported by several Government departments, private institution and public bodies.
It emphasizes on providing value creation options to the target community on social, technical and environmental fronts. On the environmental dimensions, we provide innovative strategies and solutions to minimise adverse environmental impacts (e.g. land degradation, pollution, desertification, climatic disturbances etc.), protect and conserve natural environment and preserve eco-system and other forms natural capital.
On the social dimension, SWO seeks to advance the issues of community integration, gender equality, Child Welfare, socio-economic, civic and political empowerment of women, poor and marginalized people, sustainable community development, promotion of human rights, empowerment of physically and mentally disabled population, rehabilitation of displaced population etc. |
